Bookmonger Review – RAVEN OAK

Bookmonger Review

Barbara Lloyd McMichael over on Our Coast Weekend (a PNW weekly arts & entertainment paper) typed up a nice review of Voices Carry: A Story of Teaching, Transitions, & Truths, entitled “Bookmonger: A memoir on learning to speak up,” which came out on July 9, 2024.

You can read the full review HERE, but for now, some highlights:

Oak is articulate and pulls no punches in this memoir. She doesn’t necessarily owe her readers an explanation as to how she transitioned to her own current identity as queer, but she might have used her superpower as a writer to provide deeper insight into what LGBTQ+ terminology represents.”

You can also download a full issue of the paper to read here: https://www.discoverourcoast.com/coast-weekend/e-edition/page-c18/page_5580d896-69d8-5370-aa58-aca6f511f03f.html  – Barbara’s review of Voices Carry is on page 18.
