This week’s Throwback Thursday: Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank.

…aka the first post-apocalyptic book I ever read. Thanks Mrs. Gorenflo for having us read this.

What I Love about This Cover:  It portrays what this book is about in a unique way. While the reactions and consequences of nuclear war are here, this book is all about the characters–how they react, what they do when stressed to the breaking point, how they fight to survive in a radioactive war, etc. This cover really shows that by displaying the people rather than the world.

What I Don’t Love about This Cover: The people are so 1980’s.
